SALARY: £33,024 to £35,745
LOCATION: Tiverton but working in the Mid Devon area
We are looking to expand our already successful Building Services Team by recruiting an enthusiastic new team member within our commercial adaptations team. We would consider any combination of trade skills; however, proof of knowledge and experience in the roofing trades would be advantageous.
Applicants must have a full driving licence and be customer and quality focused. The successful candidate may also be required to be part of the out of hour’s emergency service.

As a Building Surveying Technician your duties will include but are not limited to:
* To carry out works in an efficient and effective manner, minimising non-productive time wherever possible and reporting to the Area Technical Officer any difficulties encountered with any productivity problem.
* Maintain accurate records of works undertaken including electronic job tickets, updating and timesheets and other required paperwork.
* To assist your line manager with surveying of jobs key to your trade skillset including diagnosing faults and diligently undertake all core and other trade works, as instructed, ensuring that the quality of work meets the highest standards and that targets are achieved.
* To assist the commercial services / responsive repairs manager with the provision of building surveys, measured surveys, estimates and quotations key to your trade skillset.
* To carry out HHSRS surveys when required within our housing stock.
* Responsive roofing tasks could include: Diagnosis and leak tracing, responsive roofing repairs (tile, slate, cement, vertical tiles), vented roof tiles, partial batten, felt and roof replacement, flat roof repairs/replacement, corrugated roof sheet repair/replacement, full roof replacement.
About you:
* City & Guilds / NVQ 2/3 in core trade
* Experience in trade skills
* Proven knowledge and understanding of Housing Maintenance and/or experience of property and construction in the Social Housing sector
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, such as report writing
* Familiar with new related technology and hand held computers/tablets
* Able to work at height safely and confidently. This may involve inspections or very minor repairs off ladders / scalers or Easi-Dec type systems, through to larger repairs or renewals from tower scaffold or full scaffold.
