We are looking for a General Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated and hardworking team at Musgrove Park Hospital.
This role offers a Recruitment and Retentions Payment of £3500 per year.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve undertaking unsupervised (once trained), planned preventative maintenance routines and reactive maintenance work.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for maintenance, a committed team player who can provide a high quality and dedicated service, improving the delivery of maintenance at the Hospital.

Job responsibilities
1. To perform routine planned preventative maintenance work requiring basic skills (including labouring) as needed. This will include co-operating and assist with multi-skilled maintenance staff to complete tasks safely and in a timely manner.
2. To understand and adhere to the Trust Health and Safety Policies, Fire Safety Policy and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
3. To undertake any training required to undertake planned preventative maintenance programmes (PPM) this may include: Emergency light testing, Water safety/mechanical tasks, Minor door repairs/replacements such as handles, locks, signs etc

Qualifications
Essential
4. Basic Level ICT
5. Relevant NVQ level 2/3 or Vocational maintenance qualification.
6. GCSE
Desirable
7. Relevant certificated training in the use of power tools
8. Relevant certificated training in COSHH
9. Previous site maintenance experience preferably within a large organisation

10. Have experience of working in a healthcare environment
11. Experience of electrical, mechanical services, emergency light testing, water testing/ legionella sampling etc. replacing door furniture.
12. Working knowledge of health and safety policies, infection control and work procedures
