If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you Our client school in Spilsby is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH challenges. Job Summary: You will work closely with students who require additional emotional and social guidance to thrive in the classroom as an SEMH Teaching Assistant. Your role will be essential in helping them develop resilience, self-esteem, and academic success. Responsibilities of a SEMH Teaching Assistant : Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Assist in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Work closely with teachers to implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans. Promote positive social interactions and help students develop coping strategies. Monitor and report on students' emotional, behavioural, and academic progress. Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner. Help build students' confidence and self-esteem, encouraging independence. Requirements for a SEMH Teaching Assistant : Previous experience working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or with children with SEMH needs is desirable. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ are a bonus but not a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to work well within a team and take initiative. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
