Locum Band 7 MSK Physiotherapist • Location: Hemel Hempstead • Contract Type: Locum, Temporary, Full-time, Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00 • Duration: 3 months • Salary: £40-45 per hour (dependent on experience) • Start Date: ASAP We are currently seeking a Locum Band 7 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist to work at a private hospital based in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will provide high-quality MSK physiotherapy services, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions in both outpatient and community settings. As part of a dynamic team, you will work with a range of patients to help manage and treat acute and chronic MSK conditions, contributing to their recovery and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities • Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct detailed musculoskeletal assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and functional assessments. • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the patient’s needs, using a variety of therapeutic interventions (manual therapy, exercise prescription, pain management techniques). • Patient Care: Deliver hands-on physiotherapy to patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including acute injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, and degenerative conditions. • Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, occupational therapists, rehabilitation teams) to ensure holistic and effective patient care. • Patient Education: Provide education and advice on self-management, posture, ergonomics, and lifestyle modifications to prevent further injury and enhance recovery. • Documentation & Record Keeping: Ensure that all patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans are thoroughly documented in line with organizational policies. • Caseload Management: Manage a diverse caseload of MSK patients, ensuring appropriate prioritization of patients and timely interventions. • Clinical Supervision: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students as required. • Evidence-based Practice: Keep up to date with current best practices in MSK physiotherapy and contribute to the ongoing development of services and clinical pathways. Essential Requirements • Qualifications: Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or equivalent) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). • Experience: Significant post-graduate experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including experience in assessing and treating a wide range of MSK conditions. • Specialist Skills: Advanced clinical skills in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including manual therapy, joint mobilizations, soft tissue techniques, and exercise prescription. • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members. • Teamworking Ability: Able to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. • Clinical Supervision: Experience supervising and supporting junior staff or physiotherapy students. • Evidence-based Practice: Demonstrable understanding and application of evidence-based physiotherapy techniques. • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritize work effectively
