The Role:
Our Special Educational Needs (SEN) EHC Coordinators play a vital role supporting children, young people, and their families. We are looking for professionals to join our team supporting the coordination and management of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Assessments and plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Service is highly regarded nationally and rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
As a good communicator, you will join a supportive Casework Team where you will be trained, supported, and nurtured to develop and succeed. This is a challenging, responsible, and interesting role within a busy environment. You will liaise with professionals, families, and young people to ensure appropriate educational provision. Please note, this role does not involve direct work in education settings with young people with SEN.
You should have a sensitive approach to the needs of children and young people with SEN and their families, with confidence in building relationships with families, colleagues, and stakeholders. Good IT and written communication skills are essential to summarize complex information and support decision-making within statutory timescales. Experience with SEN statutory processes is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in SEN education, social care, health, or careers advice are encouraged to apply, especially those capable of managing multiple stakeholders and following procedures to deliver effective outcomes.
We offer extensive benefits to recognize your commitment. Your work base will be at our Winchester office, with an expectation of one day per week in the office and the remainder working from home. Attendance at face-to-face meetings and service days may be required.
Please upload your CV and explain your relevant experience or transferable skills related to the role profile and person specification in your personal statement or cover letter. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
