Laboratory Consultant with an interest in Myeloma (8.5 PA)
The successful candidate will join our existing friendly team of haemato-oncology consultants (FTE 9) and participate in a 1:13 rota supported by a 2 tier SHO & SpR on call rota. This is currently an 8.5 PA role and it is hoped in the future this could be expanded to 10PA.
The post-holder will be primarily laboratory-based, but will be required to do one myeloma clinic a week and contribute to a 1-in-13 on-call rota. It is anticipated the post-holder will lead the Dorset HMDS and also be the laboratory lead.
Candidates must be on, or eligible for, the GMC specialist register, or be within 6 months of entry at time of interview.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* WHO recognised Basic Medical Degree
* Full and Specialist registration in haematology (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
* Certificate of completion of training (CCT)
* MD or PhD is not a requirement but would be looked upon favourably
Clinical Experience
* Trained in the management of Haematology malignancies
* Confident in routine laboratory haematology including bone marrow reporting
* Evidence of the ability to offer expert clinical opinion in emergency and elective aspects of haematology taking full and independent responsibility for clinical decisions
* A specialist interest in the management of Myeloma disorders
Research and Audit
* Demonstrate knowledge of the role of audit
* Publications in refereed journals
Teaching Experience
* Evidence of formal undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
