We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Bank team, to provide support to the Catering team to cover annual leave, sickness and hospice events.
Bank Team
As a member of the Bank Team, you will be contacted, often at short notice, to provide cover for shifts in the kitchen. Shifts can be any time between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Sunday. This role offers flexibility to suit both your needs and the needs of the hospice.
Summary of Duties
To undertake general kitchen duties within the Hospice and support the delivery of high-quality individualised meals to meet patients’ specific nutritional requirements. Working collaboratively within the catering team and the wider team to uphold the hospice’s values and ethos of Care, Compassion and Kindness.
Do you have the following skills?
1. Good food preparation and cooking techniques
2. Ability to use and maintain kitchen equipment
3. Ability to decorate and garnish food
4. Basic knowledge of food service
5. Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety standards
6. Great interpersonal skills to interact within the kitchen team, wider hospice team, volunteers, patients, and their families.
7. A great team player
Qualifications Needed
1. Food hygiene level 2
