We have a fixed term 12 month vacancy for a Macmillan Clinical Lead Head and Neck Oncology Dietitian. The post holder will be working within well established oncology MDTs at Castle Hill Hospital providing dietetic support to head and neck oncology patients, as well as supporting the upper gastrointestinal and inpatient caseload. The post holder will be supporting the oncology team alongside another team lead for oncology, ensuring that staff, patient and service needs are met.
Main duties of the job
To provide operational management and clinical leadership to a team of oncology dietitians and support workers, providing an extensive clinical service to patients at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This will include undertaking advanced assessment and treatment of patients, who may have a complex and/or chronic presentation, to determine clinical diagnosis and propose suitable intervention / care plans.

Experience
* Demonstrates knowledge, skills and experience in a wide range of clinical areas.
* Experience of renal dietetics and demonstrates breadth of knowledge of specialist area.
* Experience of working with patients with diverse healthcare needs.
* Evidence of multi-disciplinary team working.
* Evidence of teaching / training experience.
* Experience in student training including supervision, assessment and mentoring.
* Experience of staff management, recruitment, appraisals.
* Able to demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience in care of patients with kidney impairment.
Skills
* Clinical supervisory skills course, motivational interviewing / behaviour change skills training.
* Excellent communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including assertiveness and ability to negotiate.
* Understanding of clinical governance.
* Leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
* Ability to critically evaluate current research.

Qualifications
* BSC or Post Grad diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
* HCPC registration.

* Completion of relevant post registration clinical courses (e.g. RNG CKD stage 3-5).
