Housing Assistant - PKC
£10, - £11. (14 Hours per week)
Pullar House, Perth

This is a Housing Assistant role within the City Locality Housing Team based in Pullar House but you may be asked to provide cover in other localities as and when required.
You will undertake administrative duties but will also provide support to Housing Officers and other colleagues within the locality team to deliver a comprehensive, frontline housing management service to our customers.
The post involves contact and liaison with a wide range of customers including colleagues within the team, in other council services, external agencies, customers, tenant representatives and elected members. You will also be required to carry out visits to tenants' homes for tenancy and estate management purposes as part of the role.
The Housing Assistant will provide administrative support within the locality housing team in relation to managing appointments, preparing documents, updating systems etc. This role includes provision of reception services. There is also an expectation the Housing Assistant will provide advice and assistance in relation to housing options, rent arrears, debt management etc
The Housing Assistant will have direct involvement in terminating and letting tenancies, voids and arrears management, low level complaint handling to maintain and improve tenancy sustainment
Skills & Experience Required
You must have CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice - or the equivalent - or be willing to work towards this.
You must have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
You must be an organised and structured individual, capable of prioritisation and working to tight deadlines, whilst being able to react as situations arise
You must have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, communicating well both verbally and in writing
You must be competent in the use of all Microsoft packages, but specifically Word, Outlook and Excel and be digitally competent and comfortable in learning new systems
You must be able to work well within a team environment, but also using your own initiative and seek solutions to problems
You must be able to appropriately apply confidentiality when using and sharing information and have an awareness of the relevant legislation
You must be able to evaluate the significance and urgency of information received and take appropriate action
You must be friendly, outgoing and approachable, good at multi-tasking and a committed team player who can work well within a large team and be open to others thoughts and opinions.
You must take responsibility for personal health and safety and that of others.
You must adapt your approach in accordance with the needs of customers and colleagues in a non-judgemental and respectful manner.
You must be able to work flexibly to meet service demands - if required across all localities in Perth and Kinross.
