About the Role:
We’re working with a leading provider of children’s residential care to find a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join their team in Maer, Staffordshire. This home offers therapeutic, activity-led support for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You’ll play a key role in helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and feel safe and supported every day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead by example in delivering high-quality care and meaningful activities.
* Support the Registered Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the home.
* Mentor and guide junior staff, helping to build a positive, nurturing environment.
* Plan and facilitate structured activities and interventions that promote emotional regulation, independence, and confidence.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and contribute to care planning.
* Safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a residential childcare setting.
2. NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
3. Strong understanding of safeguarding, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.
4. Confidence in leading shifts and supporting staff.
