About the Role As a Commercial Manager, you will be at the forefront of our non-domestic metering function, playing a pivotal role in shaping our commercial offerings, leading client engagements, and managing end-to-end delivery of projects. You’ll ensure our solutions are innovative, cost-effective, and aligned with our business objectives, while driving growth and fostering long-term client relationships. Key Objectives: Develop a strong commercial proposition for the non-domestic metering market, including the installation of Calisen assets (MAP). Build and nurture relationships with both existing clients and new prospects, ensuring effective and tailored solutions. Oversee the creation of robust business proposals, budgets, and forecasts to align with market trends and opportunities. Deliver on financial, operational, and growth targets through seamless project management and collaboration with internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy & Client Relationships Lead commercial negotiations, bid activity, and tenders, ensuring competitive and profitable solutions. Work closely with clients to develop bespoke solutions that address their specific needs while meeting Calisen’s strategic goals. Build and maintain long-term client relationships, fostering trust and collaboration. Develop governance frameworks to monitor delivery success and drive margin growth. Market Analysis & Business Development Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential new markets. Create and implement strategies to enhance the non-domestic metering offering, improving financial performance and market share. Ensure all offerings remain competitive and commercially viable, conducting regular reviews of margins, contracts, and client portfolios. Financial & Performance Management Develop accurate forecasts and financial models to track performance and support decision-making. Manage P&L to align with strategic objectives, delivering consistent financial performance. Provide detailed performance reporting, including KPI tracking, scenario analysis, and recommendations for corrective actions. Project Management & Stakeholder Collaboration Oversee end-to-end delivery of metering solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards. Collaborate with operational teams and other departments to ensure smooth execution of client contracts. Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, providing updates and insights into project progress and performance. Cross-Functional Support Offer commercial expertise to support other workstreams within the Metering division, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives. Act as a mentor and resource for colleagues, sharing knowledge and driving a culture of collaboration. About You: We are looking for an ambitious, strategic thinker with a proven track record in commercial management, business development, and client engagement. A degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field is desirable. Strong background in negotiating terms and contracts with clients and suppliers. Significant experience in sales, marketing, or business development roles. Demonstrated expertise in managing contracts, analysing performance, and driving commercial success. A proven track record of overseeing projects from conception to delivery, meeting time and budget objectives. Expertise in financial and commercial modelling, including P&L management. Strong knowledge of commercial management and contractual structures. Exceptional Excel and analytical skills, with an ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights. Sound understanding of market trends and the ability to translate them into effective business strategies. Excellent written communication, including experience writing reports and presentations for senior stakeholders. Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the business. A natural communicator with the ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
