We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis for 1 year. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to lead and oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, excellent customer service, and improving operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
1. Maintain and update the business forecasts, ensuring accurate financial planning.
2. Provide reporting for our Senior Leadership Team, supporting strategic decision-making.
3. Conduct P&L reviews, reporting monthly financial adjustments.
4. Manage billing operations, including issuing invoices, reviewing recurring revenue, and ensuring accuracy.
5. Raise payments and conduct bank reconciliation.
6. Support credit control processes, ensuring timely payment collection and financial stability.
7. Issue customer statements and direct debit notifications, ensuring accurate billing communication.
8. Oversee and optimise the finance suite systems and workflows.
Operations
1. Lead the Business Services team, providing leadership, management, and accountability to ensure operational efficiency, team development, and business success.
2. Identify areas of improvement in operational processes and implement changes that enhance efficiency.
3. Maintain and track key operational and financial metrics, presenting regular reports to senior leadership.
4. Oversee office logistics, ensuring smooth daily operations of the business.
5. Maintain and update company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, health & safety, ISO 27001 and GDPR standards.
6. Implement and manage ConnectWise PSA updates and system changes.
7. Maintain accurate records of contracts, assets, and renewal dates internally and for clients, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
8. Assist the sales team with contract preparation, amendments, and updates.
9. Compile board meeting updates, providing financial and HR insights and updates.
10. Organise and coordinate company events to enhance team engagement and morale.
HR
1. Oversee HR-related functions, acting as the key liaison between the business and our outsourced/group HR team for all internal matters.
Experience and Skills
1. A clean UK Driving license and own car.
2. Proven experience in a General Manager or Operations Manager role (or similar).
3. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to challenges.
5. Financial acumen and experience managing budgets/forecasts.
6. Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
7. Availability to commit to the full maternity cover period.
8. Previous experience in a B2B IT-related industry.
Technical Knowledge
1. Familiarity with Xero, finance systems, HR management systems, ConnectWise PSA (desirable).
Qualifications
1. Business Management/Operations Management or a related field degree.
2. Professional qualifications (desirable but not mandatory).
3. ISO 27001 knowledge (desirable).
4. Equivalent experience and knowledge.
