Our client is looking for an experienced Medical Director to join their business based in Slough, Berkshire. They will also consider an Associate Medical Director candidate who is looking to step into a Medical Director role over a 6-12 month transition period.
As part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for the next exciting phase of growth within the business, including new product launches in complex generics, respiratory, and neurology.
Reporting directly into the local GM, this opportunity is responsible for leading the UK medical function and is part of the broader EU Medical Team, providing a bridge between clinical research and the commercial organisation. This is a small medical team based in the UK within an SME business which promotes ownership and less red tape that can come with larger organisations.
Working as part of a dynamic, collaborative, and inspiring leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the local medical strategy aligned with the local brand plans and regional strategies supporting the Generic, Respiratory, and Neurology franchises.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for providing operational and scientific input to the professional functions. Managing communication, scientific and/or medical educational projects.
* Providing medical affairs support to local key accounts and market access activities.
* Act as certifier for promotional materials and ensure UK complies with the ABPI code.
* Provide medical affairs support for pre- and post-launch activities for existing and future Neurology products.
* Establish a local neurology KOL network - building and maintaining relationships through various MAP.
* Manage local MSL.
* Medically support the local market access and HTA activities including stakeholder management, submission development, and related projects.
* Reviews local promotional and non-promotional material as provided from the Regional team.
* Represents the company as a country medical lead at key relevant local and regional activities such as congresses, meetings with collaborative groups, patient advocacy organisations, etc.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years experience working within Medical Affairs within the Pharma industry - ideally with 2 years medical/scientific experience in rare disease or specialty care, preferably neurology.
* MD, PharmD preferred.
* Certifier of promotional materials and historically registered with ABPI and MHRA as a certifier.
* Experience with launching new products - ideally within specialty pharma.
* Understanding of health economics and healthcare systems influencing patient care.
* Experience of clinical development, clinical operations, data analysis/biostatistics, medical writing, safety, and regulatory affairs desirable.
* Strong team player who is able to work well in a matrix environment.
* Solutions-oriented with strong business and commercial acumen.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Flexible, adaptable, and proactive nature to meet various demands in a dynamic environment.
