Visitor Experience Officer - Reading Summary Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit. The working pattern would be Tuesday to Saturday (Sunday and Monday off work) or Sunday to Thursday (Friday and Saturday off work) each week. Working bank holidays on a rota is required to support the delivery of events and busier operations. What it's like to work here You’ll be our full time Visitor Experience Officer, reporting to our Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer. This role works in our Visitor Operations and Experience Team across the portfolio of three properties with particular focus on Basildon Park & Greys Court. You will work closely with a group of dedicated Visitor Experience Volunteers to ensure we always have engaging trails created and produced to a high quality. There is always an opportunity to work with all departments on enhancing the visitor experience as collaboration is key to the success of how we work. What you'll be doing As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. With your team, you’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Thames Valley. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here. You'll encourage visitors to take a closer look at artworks or precious objects cared for by the Trust. You might be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas. You’re likely to be checking standards of presentation on site, or helping to write for our web pages.
