Job Title: Cloud Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital Policing Department as a Cloud Engineer. You will be responsible for engineering new cloud services & environments to architectural standards and enhancing existing capabilities.
In this role, you will influence, verify, and inform the designs intended to deliver the next generation of digital services for Northumbria Police.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Building and implementing cloud systems and services that consistently meet or exceed expectations.
2. Developing automation necessary for on-demand resource provisioning and user self-service.
3. Implementing industry best practices across all cloud services and solutions.
4. Migrating legacy systems from on-premises to cloud.
5. Delivering secure migration of data from on-premises systems to services.
Requirements:
1. Proven enterprise-level experience in making detailed technical assessments of existing on-premises servers, applications & services.
2. Experience migrating legacy on-premise solutions to Azure and engineering cloud infrastructure.
3. Deploying and using Azure Migrate: Discovery and Assessment, and Migration and Modernisation within an enterprise.
4. Demonstrable experience delivering secure & resilient connectivity via ExpressRoute, S2S VPN Gateways, and P2S VPNs.
5. Proven experience building solutions and services using Microsoft Azure Resources.
6. Experience engineering event-driven solutions and integrations with Azure Event Grid.
7. Proven SecOps (Security Operations) experience and skilled in penetration testing methodologies.
8. In-depth knowledge and experience using Azure ARC, AMA, Defender, and traditional on-premises anti-virus (malware) solutions.
9. Deeply skilled in threat hunting across cloud, all traditional IT domains, and highly knowledgeable with current TTPs (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures) used by threat actors.
10. Demonstrable experience building fully monitored and highly resilient secure-by-design solutions.
11. Experience engineering identity security solutions and integrations with SailPoint IDN.
12. Proven expertise in using Infrastructure as code (IaC) such as Terraform.
13. Proficient in one or more scripting languages including PowerShell.
14. Azure Administrator and Azure Security Technologies certifications required.
15. Demonstrable experience engineering bespoke solutions through collaboration with technical teams.
16. Ability to cut through technical and organisational complexity to gain a full understanding of complex technologies and business processes.
17. Proven experience of delivering exceptional results while building and managing relationships diplomatically.
