ROLE – Decommissioning Supervisor DEPARTMENT – Decommissioning LOCATION – Aldermaston CLEARANCE – DV Working with NSG NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles. The Role To lead a multi-disciplined team a safe manner ensuring that activities run to programme. To ensure that the operations and activity of all personnel are completed safely. To liaise with project stakeholders and ensure the requirements of the construction phase plans and safe systems of work are implemented. Specific Areas of Responsibility Resource Management Co-ordinate and control the day-to-day operations of a site team so as to provide safe, secure and efficient work environment ensuring: • SSoW are suitable and sufficient before setting to work • All plant/ equipment is operated safely • All physical resources are maintained, stored and organised to allow efficient and effective operation • Resource requests are made in a timely manner, to enable planning Ensure necessary resources are made available for the team Issue personal protective equipment, ensuring it is worn and correctly used at all times. Communicate instructions clearly ensuring all necessary information is accessible to all Compliance Ensure all personnel, their work activity and actions meet stringent criteria with regards • Relevant statutory provisions • Site Licence (where applicable) • Standards and expectations Management Information • Work closely with the Site Supervisor / Site Manager / Construction Manager to coordinate site resources. • Attend PLOD and PLOW meetings • Report work progress to the Site Supervisor/ Site Manager/ Construction Manager. • Contribute to and review SSoW within area of responsibility Liaison • Provide a professional and informed point of contact for the team • Day to day liaison with project stakeholders QSHEW The Company operates a QSHEW system to manage quality, health and safety and the environment.
