Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated ALN (Additional Learning Needs) Learning Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and a positive learning experience.
As an ALN Learning Support Worker, you will work closely with classroom teachers, SEN (Special Educational Needs) coordinators, and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. You will be instrumental in helping students overcome challenges, develop their confidence, and achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with ALN both individually and in small groups, providing tailored assistance to meet their specific learning needs.
* Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for students with diverse learning requirements.
* Assist in classroom activities and promote positive behaviour.
* Encourage students' independence, self-esteem, and social skills development.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and materials as needed for ALN students.
* Keep accurate records of student progress and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience working with children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is desirable, but not essential.
* A passion for working with young people and helping them overcome challenges.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
* A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., a Teaching Assistant qualification or ALN-related qualification) would be an advantage.
