About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned DevOps/System Administrator with proven industry experience and a robust background in Microsoft technologies and SQL Server to join our team at iGPR. This position is perfect for a technical expert who excels in managing infrastructure, optimizing databases, automating deployments, and ensuring system reliability in a high-availability environment, all while adhering to the highest standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and optimize cloud-based and on-premise server environments, ensuring system stability and security.
2. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft DevOps tools, PowerShell, and other automation frameworks.
3. Manage and optimize SQL databases, ensuring performance, availability, and security. Perform backups, restores, and performance tuning.
4. Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
5. Security & Compliance
6. Enforce security best practices across infrastructure, databases, and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
7. Maintain clear and concise technical documentation related to system configurations, processes, and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven industry experience in a DevOps or System Administrator role.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Azure (VMs, Networking, Security, Storage, Azure DevOps).
* Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, high availability).
* Strong CI/CD experience especially creation of new pipelines with tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
* Experience with Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policies, IIS, PowerShell).
* Scripting & Automation: Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
* Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with tools like Azure Monitor, Splunk, or Prometheus.
* Networking knowledge (VPNs, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, SSL certificates).
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Understanding of compliance and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NHS standards).
* Experience with Kubernetes or containerization (Docker, AKS).
* C# or .Net 6/7/8 experience.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
* 5+ years' experience as Dev Ops / System Administrator.
* Strong analytical skills.
