We are looking for a Glaucoma Nurse to join our busy Ophthalmology Nursing team.
You must have good communication skills and experience in clinical expertise within glaucoma care.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical, professional, and strategic leadership of Glaucoma Services within the department.
2. Act as a clinical expert in Glaucoma, ensuring all advice and services provided are evidence-based and in line with national and local policies and guidelines.
3. Manage and deliver direct clinical care to glaucoma patients, including follow-up care and discharge summaries.
4. Provide assessment, diagnosis, education, advice, emotional and psychological support, counselling regarding treatment options, and list patients for surgical intervention if appropriate.
5. Identify opportunities for service expansion and lead the development and redesign of glaucoma services, including pathway implementation.
6. Act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of work, including decisions about treatment and management of highly complex patients.
