HW Finance are delighted to have been Retained by a Growing Investment Backed Business to help appoint their new Finance Director.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical leadership role at the heart of the company’s strategy and growth. They are seeking a commercially-minded Finance Director to provide financial support to the Board and senior leadership team.
While overseeing the company’s financial health and operation, the Finance Director will lead all elements of financial reporting and accounting, regulation and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the month-end and quarter-end financial reporting process, ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place to deliver usable information on a timely basis.
2. Build strong relationships with investors and other key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of the company’s financial performance, growth prospects and strategic vision and progress.
3. This includes overseeing financial reporting and leading investor and Board communications.
4. Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting for shareholders/management and present results to the Board.
5. Act as main contact for all accounting and taxation matters.
6. Manage multiple P&Ls across the Group of Businesses, overseeing and preparing cross-company processes for charging.
7. Build collaborative and productive working relationships across the business and with key external stakeholders, including third party finance providers, tax authorities, bankers and auditors.
8. Lead financial planning, forecasting and analysis to inform strategic initiatives, with strong focus on commercial opportunities, cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
9. Assist in potential financing transactions with third-party lenders.
10. Cost control and reporting covering all overheads and direct costs incurred by the Group.
11. Support CEO in budget preparation and business plan process.
12. External audit and tax filing management.
13. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements (FCA etc.).

1. Strong educational background with membership of a UK recognised professional accounting body.

4. Ability to focus on key issues but not to the detriment of understanding the detail.

6. Data literate with ability to quickly draw through the data analysis to identify trends and opportunities, leverage performance and inform rapid and accurate decision making.
