Cleveland Clinic London are looking for a Sustainability Manager to lead, develop and implement the Cleveland Clinic London approach to environmental sustainability, and provide senior professional management of the full range of environmental services including energy and water management, waste management, carbon reduction, sustainable and active travel including car parking, environmental legal compliance, sustainable design and construction, environmental management systems, communications, and staff engagement. You will proactively embed environmental sustainability and efficiency across the organisation and engage key stakeholders within the Enterprise, to deliver the Cleveland Clinic London vision to become a leading Healthcare Provider in environmental sustainability. Ensure Cleveland Clinic London policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented Ensure that Cleveland Clinic London remains compliant with all applicable energy and waste legislative requirements and Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs). Maintain a register of legislation and other requirements and liaise with Government agencies where required. Perform a lead role for Cleveland Clinic London in respect of all matters relating to Sustainable Development and environmental & waste management at a strategic and operational level. Proactively engage with partners to deliver energy and waste improvements in a cost effective and timely manner. Develop and maintain all policies relating to environmental management, including waste, energy and sustainable travel policies. Prepare reports for presentation to Cleveland Clinic committees, boards, and steering groups in relation to Sustainable Development, energy and waste management, travel and access and other sustainability initiatives Develop and implement a plan for internal and external communications on sustainability and environmental performance. Ensure the profile of Cleveland Clinic London, sustainability performance and activities remain high at a national level and seek regular opportunities to present at conferences, apply for awards, prepare case studies and articles for inclusion in sector journals. Ensure the development and delivery of an energy efficiency capital plan, including both short, medium and long-term priorities and maintain an active pipeline of business cases, seeing approved projects through to implementation and measuring and verifying savings. Ensure that successful initiatives are replicated across the Estate. Ensure that the Sustainability and Waste function deliver a comprehensive energy and waste audit programme across both the internal and external Estate to meet legislative requirements and identify examples of good practice and opportunities for improvement. Key audit findings should be tracked and reported. Other duties assigned What we need from you? Extensive practical experience in managing, promoting and the development of sustainability projects within a large organisation is essential Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g. budgets, timescales is desirable Understanding of climate change, sustainability and environmental and energy management. Ability to analyse information and formulate concise reports is essential Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes and projects, e.g. PRINCE2, MS desirable Development of medium and long term strategic plans, with an understanding of the interdependencies and impact across the organisation is desirable Excellent presentation & communication skills – ability to engage with all levels of staff and contribute at meetings is essential Experience in challenging practice and addressing ways of working where there are barriers to understanding is essential Experience in managing a large and complex caseload, prioritising and reprioritising to meet deadlines is desirable Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office or equivalent is essential What we can offer you?
