About the Role As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will work with pupils aged 11–19, focusing on PE and Maths classes. In this role, you will teach pupils who may exhibit challenging behaviours due to their complex needs, and your expertise will play a vital role in their development and success. We welcome applications from teachers with QTS status, regardless of whether your experience is in Primary or Secondary teaching. What’s important to the school is that you can deliver an inclusive curriculum that fosters achievement and helps pupils reach their potential. You’ll work closely with support staff to create an engaging, positive learning environment, ensuring each pupil gets the support they need to thrive. Regular feedback will be provided to senior leadership, parents, and carers, ensuring effective collaboration and pupil progress. Key Responsibilities * Teach engaging PE and Maths lessons to pupils aged 11–19. * Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse and individual needs of students. * Work with teaching assistants to support and encourage pupils effectively. * Provide regular feedback to SLT, parents, and carers on pupil progress. * Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, managing behaviour and engagement. About You * Experience teaching in an SEN school or working with pupils with complex additional needs. * A creative, engaging approach to teaching that makes learning fun and meaningful. * Ability to plan lessons tailored to the needs of individual pupils. * UK QTS or QTLS qualification. * Experience managing challenging behaviour in the classroom.
