Position: Teaching Assistant (SEMH, Challenging Behaviour, Autism)
Location: Wirral
Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: September 2024
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and autism.
2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
3. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
4. Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent and patient interaction.
5. Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation, and academic progress.
6. Help with classroom management and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH, challenging behaviour, and autism.
2. Strong understanding of strategies and interventions for supporting students with additional needs.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable.
6. A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
7. Enhanced DBS.
