We are now seeking a Technical Service Manager to join us in Farnborough UK. The Technical Services Manager takes overall responsibility, oversight, and direction of the Technical Services department for all Technical, Planning, & Engineering functions to include both Base and Line maintenance across multi-site activities. Per MOE they also deputise for the Base Maintenance Manager and the Supply Chain Manager in their absence. Technical & Planning function: Analysis of the WP to determine period and time objectives for each scheduled maintenance to plan and organise appropriately the work to be performed, and providing quotations for maintenance as requested Control External manufacturer documentation (including CMM) used in company and ensure the availability of all necessary maintenance data Ensure analysis of manufacturer documentation to create templates including work organisation, parts to be ordered, and time objectives to perform the work Ensure that templates are integrated in the MRO software to facilitate work preparation Ensure that work packages are prepared and recorded at correct time by the Technical personnel Organise in coordination with Production Management the use of contractor personnel Organise weekly meeting with Base Manager, Hangar Manager, and Workshops Supervisor to plan weekly workload Plan for the hangar’s occupation and aircraft movement/run up; It includes placement of the aircraft in the hangar taking into account positioning and distancing from other aircraft and obstacles Assign personnel to maintenance project according to personnel competences/experiences/privileges and aircraft type Maintain a current short-term planning for scheduled maintenance inspection Maintain a current detailed man-hour plan in coordination with the Hangar Manager Monitor individual man-hours and provide feedback to Management in case of requirement to adjust or alter templates Coordinate daily status and problems of scheduled maintenance project in conjunction with the hangar manager in terms of lack of resources and delay due to additional works Advise the management on future workload and problem of manpower, tools, and hangar area Providing customer progress updates, acceptance of additional defects, and labour cost review according to targets and consumed labour. Engineering function: Providing support (Liaison / coordination / deviation) to the modification or repair process / data approval in case of work requested by the customer when data are not yet properly described or approved by appropriate competent authority. Co-ordination with the Technical function for assistance with quotations. Co-ordination with Production for implementation of modification or deviation of approved data. Providing support for the modification or repair process/data approval to internal customer or external Design Organisation (DO). The personnel coordinate the interface between approved DO and the Production department before beginning of work and during the maintenance until approval of maintenance data used. The personnel are responsible to advise the DO about any deviation or difficulties. Provide and track feedback to DO/OEM for any ambiguities in maintenance data notified through the internal Safety Management reports, as notified by the Compliance team Essential: Thorough understanding of Part-145 and general understanding of Part-M/CAMO regulations and their application in a 145 environment Technical background either in aircraft maintenance support role or hands-on experience within an MRO Demonstrable experience of managing in a Part-145 support function role, and the required soft skills Good business acumen, with understanding of Profit and Loss effects Strong numerical and analytical skills Computer literate across all Microsoft applications Ability to read & write fluently in the English Languag Desirable: An EASA B1 or B2 Part 66 licence or 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience is considered an asset Business Aviation experience Full UK driving licence Available to travel, sometimes at short notice
