JOB TITLE: Senior Site Reliability Engineer
SALARY: £68,202 - £75,780
LOCATION(S): Halifax, Manchester and Leeds
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: At least two days per week (or 40% of your time) at one of our offices listed above. The team is predominately based in Halifax; therefore, the preferred location for this role is Halifax. However, as we're fully supportive of hybrid ways of working, we welcome applications from colleagues based in Manchester or Leeds, but occasional travel to Halifax will be required to support collaborative working with the wider team.

The Engineering Platform team is on the journey to create the next generation technical platform for Lloyds Banking Group that will be at the core of one of the UK's biggest financial service transformations. Specific activities which you'll be responsible for include:
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert on GKE/AKS providing technical decision making and mentoring
* Streamlining of operational processes through automation and systems thinking
* Supplying technical leadership during service outages to recover services through incident and problem management
* Leading and contributing to blameless post-mortems for serious incidents
* Improving and embedding new SRE practices to improve levels of service
* Management of DevOps tooling services through the service lifecycle including risk management and compliance
* Understanding Engineering Teams challenges and helping them deliver value through consultancy and the implementation of robust DevOps solutions
* Creating sustainable change and build capabilities
What you'll need:
* Experience as a SRE, Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer or in a similar software or cloud role
* Strong critical thinking skills, leading live support, incident management and resolution
* Technical leadership experience
* Strong understanding of SRE concepts and principles
* Experience of CI/CD across various tooling and a good understanding of DevOps
* Excellent analytical skills and able to work methodically and diligently
* Programming and Scripting experience
* Displaying excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A passion for service, ensuring our colleagues and customers receive the most reliable service possible
Any experience of these would be really useful:
* Cloud Platforms - GCP/OpenShift/Azure
* Containerisation - Kubernetes/Docker/Podman/Buildah
* CI/CD - Jenkins/Tekton/GitHub Actions/Harness/ArgoCD
* Monitoring - Dynatrace
* Experience administering - Nexus RM/Nexus Firewall/Nexus Lifecycle/SonarQube
* Infrastructure as Code eg Chef, Terraform, Ansible
* Linux Administration
* ITIL or Service management experience
* Formal software development experience
* Agile work practices
* Application Lifecycle Management
* Software Delivery Lifecycle
