About the role:
The Financial Accountant will work as part of a small and highly efficient team to support the production of accurate and timely financial statements to management and other stakeholders.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
1. Preparation and review of departmental P&L reports for monthly distribution
2. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
3. Preparation and co-ordination of year-end schedules
4. Monthly VAT returns
5. Payroll journals, analysis, and month-end reconciliation
6. Manage and update the Fixed Assets register, monitoring and controlling spend on capital projects to ensure they don't overrun their budgets.
7. Preparation of 16-week cash flow forecast including CAPEX spend tracking and forecasting.
8. Assisting with the preparation of budget information
9. Ownership of ONS requests for information and surveys.
10. Preparation of the annual PSA return
11. Management of the company's CDS account
12. Provide support to the UK Financial Controller as required
13. Ad hoc analyses and reports
14. Any other ad-hoc duties that fall within the scope of the role
About you:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working within an accounts department within a company with revenue of at least £25m per annum.
Other skills and experience required:
1. ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified/Part-qualified (though strong QBE candidates will also be considered).
2. Strong all-round communicator
3. Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
4. Hands-on and driven with a genuine interest in understanding how the business works
5. Adaptable and flexible approach to work
6. Must be self-motivated and able to organise & manage their own workload within an extremely busy accounts department.
7. Advanced user of Excel would be advantageous. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
