Job Description
Summary

Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to become our Strategic Delivery Manager. The Strategic Delivery Manager is a key role that will help Historic England achieve real impact by ensuring the organisation has a robust and effective performance and strategy ecosystem. You will give practical advice and make recommendations on how we embed and monitor the new Corporate Plan, influence new strategies, and support the stakeholder management for our key strategic relationship with English Heritage Trust.
You will work closely with the Head of Strategic Planning by driving the effective co-ordination, delivery, and communication of a range of strategically important initiatives and projects, bringing expert analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
This opportunity sits within the Strategic Planning team whose role is to help Historic England be clear about what it's trying to do and how it stands against it.
What You Will Be Doing
1. Provide colleagues across Historic England with support in managing their strategy work, taking delegated responsibility for maintaining progress and ensuring actions and milestones are met.
2. Lead on communications for the strategic planning team’s projects – developing effective communications plans and designing engaging materials.
3. Provide management information and updates as required for Commission, the Audit and Risk Committee, Business and Finance Committee, Executive Team, the Corporate Leadership Team, and the community of activity owners in relation to the projects for which they are responsible.
4. Ensure the timely delivery of specific projects assigned to the team and undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and competencies required of the post.
What We Are Looking For
* Strong data literacy and numeracy skills, and experience interpreting and presenting qualitative and quantitative data with a good attention to detail.
* Experience of evaluation, monitoring, and reporting complex projects at the corporate level.
* Proven experience in Project Management.
* Influencing & Communicating Skills at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
* Strategic Thinking / Self-Motivation.
* Navigating Complexity / Commitment to continuous improvement.
