About Us: The Dalton Nuclear Institute (DNI) at the University of Manchester is an internationally renowned centre for nuclear education and research. Celebrating 20 years of excellence, DNI supports nuclear research capabilities throughout the University for both industrial and academic partners. Our institute includes the Dalton Cumbrian Facility located in West Cumbria.
About the Role: You will join us at a pivotal time as we reimagine the future role of the Dalton Nuclear Institute within the wider Manchester 2035 strategic development. As the Operations Manager, you will be a vital member of our team, ensuring our continued success into the future.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development, implementation, and review of processes and procedures.
2. Manage the Institute’s professional services staff based in Oddfellow Hall, Manchester.
3. Oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational management of the Institute.
4. Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of strategy, policies, and procedures.
5. Support the establishment and development of key strategic partnerships and planning for new opportunities and initiatives.
6. Work closely with the Director, Deputy Director, and Head of Operations of the Dalton Nuclear Institute, and the wider Senior Management Team.
7. Provide wide-ranging coordination and support for tracking and recording key data, budget management, internal and external meetings and visits, grant applications, Centre communications, and public engagement activities.
About You: We are looking for a highly skilled manager to lead positively and proactively, providing support and direction for Institute activities. The ideal candidate will make a significant contribution to the smooth running and strategic development of the Dalton Nuclear Institute.
