Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 6 month secondment as a Nutritional Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a small nursing team delivering care to patients with nutritional needs. This post would be suitable for registered nurses with a minimum of 2yrs post registration experience and experience working with patients who receive enteral and parental feeding. At band 6 entry level you will have support from the Lead Nutrition Nurse Specialist and the wider nursing team. Regular in-house teaching and appropriate external conferences also support essential knowledge in this fast-moving field. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail even when working under pressure. You must also be proactive and motivated to learn this specialist field to high standard and deliver high-quality, safe, evidence based and compassionate patient care, with excellent organisational skills and be computer literate. Main duties of the job This post is to promote, enhance and work with the Nutrition Nurse Specialist team to deliver a specialist nursing service to patients and families within the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. Work within a clinical team to deliver a specialist nutritional service and to enhance the quality of patient care.
