Role Purpose:
As People Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day People-related queries, providing brilliant support to colleagues and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From onboarding new starters to updating records in IRIS HR our people system, you'll play a key role in delivering a great colleagues experience.
You’ll work closely with the wider People Team to support across the colleague lifecycle and help us continuously improve the way we work.

Key Responsibilities:
General People Administration & support
* Respond to routine People-related queries from colleagues and managers, escalating where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate colleague records in IRIS HR, including starters, leavers, changes, absence and personal details.
* General payroll administration.
* Prepare and issue documentation such as offer letters, contracts, change letters, reference requests, and leaver confirmations.
* Monitor and update People Team trackers, shared inboxes, and filing systems in line with GDPR.
* Manage all family leave processes
* Assisting with the administration of our benefits and reward processes
Onboarding and Offboarding
* Coordinate pre-employment checks and onboarding processes, ensuring new starters have a smooth experience.
* Schedule induction sessions and liaise with relevant departments to ensure all systems and access are set up.
* Administer offboarding processes including exit interviews and systems access removal.
Recruitment Support
* Post job adverts across internal and external platforms
* Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communications, and feedback tracking.
* Carry out screening calls with candidates
* Support hiring managers with recruitment administration and documentation.
Learning and Development
* Support the scheduling and coordination of internal and external training sessions.
* Maintain accurate records of colleague learning and development activity.
* Keep our Learning Management System records up to date
Systems and Reporting
* Ensure IRIS HR is updated in a timely and accurate manner.
* Generate routine reports on areas such as headcount, absence, and compliance data as requested.
* Support data audits and assist with ensuring systems are used effectively across the business.
Project and Process Support
* Contribute to the delivery of People Team initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
* Assist in reviewing and maintaining policies, templates, and standard operating procedures.
Skills, Experience & Competencies
* Great attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach.
* Friendly and approachable communication style – written and verbal.
* Comfortable using systems and keen to learn more
* A genuine interest in people and making work a positive experience for everyone.
* Comfortable working at a fast pace with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands; spinning lots of plates at one time.
* Passionate about providing an excellent customer service
* Discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.
* Excellent IT skills and specifically MS Office
* Some previous admin or HR experience would be helpful, but we’re open to potential and attitude.
