The Overhaul Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and operational readiness of a fleet of cranes and lifting equipment. This position is responsible for executing technical services locally in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, performing on-site maintenance, repair, and inspection of equipment, and managing interventions during equipment breakdowns. The technician operates as a member of a workshop team, ensuring that equipment is safe, reliable, and operationally efficient, with the aim of achieving and maintaining an optimal fleet condition.

Regularly complete Work Place Inspection (WPI) reports for your work areas, identifying and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions.
Ensure all activities and processes are in strict compliance with SHEQ standards, company policies, instructions, and local legislation, reporting any non compliance issues immediately.
Maintenance and Repairs
Perform checks, controls, and tests on the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic aspects of fleet equipment, following procedures and instructions, and ensuring alignment with manufacturers’ guidelines. Conduct inspections, interventions, and repairs on fleet equipment, materials, and, when necessary, the yard, following a checklist and applicable procedures as per manufacturers’ guidelines.
Execute periodic maintenance schemes to ensure optimal performance of the fleet and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, performing all necessary tests to accurately identify and execute the correct repairs. Ensure that all issues are resolved efficiently and effectively to minimize both costs and downtime.
Identify required parts using a catalogue, compile a list, and request pricing from suppliers. Justify the selection by explaining to the team leader or Fleet Manager why the chosen parts offer the most cost-effective repair solution.
Education
Technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems, or relevant field experience
Experience 1-2 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field (preferably with cranes or lifting equipment).
Technical Skills Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Familiarity with the tools and equipment used in heavy machinery maintenance. Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to equipment maintenance and repair.
Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
