This is a full time permanent Social Worker position based in the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team within Bristol Sanctuary Services. Bristol Sanctuary Services team works with refugees, asylum seekers, and people with no recourse to public funds to support them to feel safe, supported to positively rebuild their lives, and be given opportunities to develop and utilise their talents.
This Social Worker role will work with families and individuals who may have care needs who do not have regularised immigration status in the UK and who have no recourse to public funds. The role will involve undertaking Section 17 assessments in a compassionate way, building relationships with children and connected adults, ensuring positive outcomes for the child in a timely manner and supporting people to make relevant immigration applications.
You will need to be a qualified Social Worker with experience of undertaking Section 17 assessments and have the ability to work professionally and contribute effectively within a team of Social Workers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, building rapport and demonstrating empathy and respect.
Knowledge of the no recourse to public funds function within a local authority and of immigration issues is desirable but not essential; training can be offered on the job. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team who value equality and systemic practices and the role is based at the Welsman Office, BS2 9JA which has free parking, with wider Bristol Sanctuary Services team members at 100 Temple Street and City Hall.
Dependent on your experience, this role will be paid at BG12 – BG13 grade.
