Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the quality and integrity of project plans and schedule analysis, focusing on time, cost, and resources.
* Generate reports to provide the project manager and team with accurate, up-to-date information.
* Verify the accuracy and maintenance of project plans, ensuring they align with project objectives, are updated regularly, and communicated at appropriate levels.
* Monitor project performance to ensure the accuracy of project data on a weekly and monthly basis.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the planning process.
* Communicate and manage issues with relevant stakeholders.
* Efficiently plan resources, determining project needs and addressing resourcing issues and conflicts proactively.
* Oversee planning and project control processes through regular project control reviews.
* Apply and report on Earned Value Management (EVM) and Critical Path Analysis (CPA).
* Manage and maintain risk and opportunity assessments.
* Implement best practice tools and processes to enhance planning capabilities.
* Support bids and proposals by providing planning expertise.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Ideally degree qualified or possess a relevant qualification (APM certification).
* Comprehensive understanding and experience with the APM Body of Knowledge.
* Preferably a full member of the APM.
* Proven experience in project planning, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.
* Familiarity with Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS - Product Breakdown Structure).
* Advanced IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Project (MSP) and/or other planning tools like Primavera P6.
* Experience with Lifecycle Management (LCM).
* Proven expertise in EVM, CPA, and QSRA.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and lead cross-functional collaborations.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in aerospace and defense.
