In this role you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the digital beauty content for Harper’s Bazaar. The candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a passion for skincare, haircare, make-up and wellness, with an excellent list of contacts within the industry. The role will report into the Multiplatform Director and support with the day-to-day running of Bazaar’s site, helping the team to hit traffic, revenue and ecommerce targets. The role involves identifying and creating content as well as commissioning and editing other writers, and supporting the social media team where necessary. This is an ideal job for an established talent who already has experience in subbing and editing copy, as well as growing traffic and revenue on behalf of a brand. Key responsibilities Source and write daily pieces relevant to harpersbazaar.com/uk, in a timely manner, contributing to traffic growth. Work to support SEO strategy across the site. Forward plan to ensure appropriate content is published to mark cultural milestones or significant dates (e.g International Women’s Day, Earth Day). Have regular contact with the commercial teams to ensure we are maximising digital revenue opportunities within beauty. Work with the social media editor, when needed, to support in the creation of content for Bazaar’s social media channels. Interview high-profile talent for both written and video content. Support the team in the creation and commissioning of ecommerce content within the beauty channel, and helping to hit targets. Construct briefs, commission writers and ensure they deliver copy on time. Edit copy to ensure it meets editorial standards. Support internal contributors, approving pitches, subbing and editing copy and offering digital guidance. Use data to analyse content performance and react accordingly. Represent the brand, where appropriate, attending relevant events, including reader events, which may be out of office hours. Monitor traffic and trends across the beauty channel, reporting back to the team. Be committed to creating diverse and inclusive content. Be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values. ABOUT YOU Experience of working on a consumer website. Excellent understanding of SEO best practices. Experience of uploading content online and use of social media. Ability to generate and translate ideas and concepts into first class digital content. Proven experience and talent for writing for a website. Strong organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills and a team player. Enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do’ attitude. A genuine interest for the topics that Harper’s Bazaar covers.
