You will work in close partnership with education providers to address the complex issues of school Inclusion and exclusion. We have two temporary fixed term (until 31 March 2026) roles available Whist we are offering two full-time opportunities we would also consider applications on a part-time basis of 18.5 hours per week. You will work in the following district areas: Cannock Stafford Tamworth Newcastle under Lyme You will be mainly working with schools and families so need to be available during school hours and occasionally after 5pm to attend meetings. You will be able to work flexibly, including hybrid working. Main Responsibilities Your main areas or responsibility will be: Responding to Headteachers decision to exclude a pupil Offering advice and support to the family Supporting the statutory process of exclusion as an impartial advisor/observer Securing the child's 6th day educational provision Completing the administrative task which are associated with the process. The Ideal Candidate You will have: a degree or a professional qualification at an equivalent level (such as social work or teaching) or equivalent experience. a thorough understanding of the complex factors which may influence behaviour in educational settings and strategies to address these. an understanding of exclusion procedures, legal framework and latest DfE Guidance on Exclusion from School and keeping children safe in education. proven ability to work in partnership with families, professionals and schools to bring about positive change the ability to work alone or as part of a team, whilst under pressure. the skills to work inclusively, create space for the voice of the child and promote opportunities for children to learn and grow. good communication and organisation skills, and be able to record your work onto a computer data base. means to travel across the county/district areas. “We’re happy to talk flexible working” Shortlisting will take place week beginning 3rd March.
