Job summary Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. Role: Healthcare Assistant (Hospice in your Home) Hours: 30 hours per week, internal rotation over 7 days a week Contract: Permanent Salary: £18,564 - £21,209 per annum (pro rata of £22,896 - £26,158) Closing date: 24/11/2024 Interview date: 05/12/2024 Main duties of the job As a Healthcare Assistant you will deliver a high quality, holistic, palliative and end of life nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse/Assistant Practitioner. As the successful candidate, you will have previous experience within a care setting and knowledge of palliative care and nursing patients at end of life. Experience of community nursing is advantageous. You will provide emotional, spiritual and practical support to patients in their normal place of residence and therefore must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work, which you must have insured for business use.
