We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, highly adaptable individual to join our reception team at St. Mary’s Hospital Cellular Pathology Department.
The main duties of the role include supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the laboratory by maintaining equipment, changing reagents, washing up laboratory glassware, receiving supplies, filing microscope slides and cassettes. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an organised and thorough approach to their work. Previous NHS laboratory experience is an advantage although full training for the role will be provided.

Main duties:
· General laboratory duties
· Block, slide and paperwork retrieval and filing
· Scanning, photocopying and general administrative duties
· Entry of patient details and tests required onto laboratory computer system; checking information with requestors if discrepancies are noted.
· Preparing cases to be referred to other laboratories.
· Answer telephone enquiries.
· Participation in stock control for laboratory consumables.
· Receiving deliveries
· Cleaning of laboratory equipment.
· Other house-keeping duties as required.
