Role Title: Senior Systems Accountant
BU/Segment: Insurance
Location: London, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working)
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract
Summary of the role:
Reporting to the Head of Systems Accounting, you will oversee the optimisation and maintenance of our financial systems, focusing on Aptitude and Oracle. Your role includes troubleshooting, implementing system changes, and ensuring alignment with business processes, all while supporting Financial Controllers in investigations and testing to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
* Maintenance and updating of financial systems, specifically Aptitude.
* Reviewing procedure and policies for financial systems.
* Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues with implemented financial systems.
* Implementing changes to financial systems in a controlled manner with appropriate testing and review.
* Ensuring that the impact of changes to financial systems on businesses process are understood.
* Performing ad-hoc and periodic investigations as requested by Financial Controllers.
* Support testing of any changes to financial systems.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
* Strong academic background including an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (minimum 7 years post qualification experience).
* Strong experience working within an insurance or reinsurance business
* Advanced experience and knowledge of Oracle Financials, including troubleshooting, system configuration, and usage as a Systems Accountant.
* Proven experience in managing and improving financial systems, ensuring their alignment with business needs.
