What's involved with this role: Temporary PT Environment Officer - Biodiversity Reference no: Kirklees TCL 0009 728A / 1 Pay Rate: £18.53 per hour PAYE 18 Monday – Friday, TBC This opening assignment is for 3-6 months City: HUDDERSFIELD Part time position - working 2 days per week - can work 1 day in the office, 1 day from home A standard biodiversity officer role consultancy on applications would provide standard advice on applications looking for someone with experience in BNG to be able to help out from that perspective as well as new BNG Guidance has come into place which will add a layer of pressure to this position. Currently 20-25 outstanding applications – would send the majors – attached PPA (paid for a service) higher priority deemed impact for the worker to focus on first. Key Responsibilities: Qualifications: Must have a relevant qualification in Ecology – can be wide ranging (marine biology etc) CIMA Qualified – desirable Knowledge: Knowledge of ecosystem services and interrelationships with other services and departments. Good knowledge of wider sectors / external influences. Knowledgeable on wildlife law, policy and procedures relating to Development Management Knowledgeable on wildlife law, policy and procedures relating to Development Management Understanding local policies and procedures Experience: Proven experience of working in a planning DM environment, dealing with planning applications Experience of dealing with biodiversity and wildlife conservation in relation to Development Management. Experience of partnership working. Experience of representing the ecology and biodiversity to external audiences. Ideally looking for local authority – even if not applied experience awareness of processes Skills & Abilities: Strong IT skills to support working with packages such as Word, Excel, and Access as well as specific IT packages. Strong written communication skills to be able to produce clear reports and documentation. Strong numeracy skills to be able to perform accurate financial and arithmetical calculations. Have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and excellent interpersonal skills at all times.
