Job Introduction
Sutherland Lodge Surgery are looking for a friendly, kind receptionist/administrator who enjoys a patient facing role on a busy reception. You will be working with a great team of full time and part time receptionist/administrators and a welcoming wider team. It's really important to us to find someone who can be flexible about working hours, we do some late nights when the finish time is 8pm, it would be fab if you could take your turn with that. We also open on some Saturdays. There are opportunities for training and development, there is also time spent away from reception working the triage system, processing prescription requests, scanning and coding documents and other administrative work.
Main Responsibilities
* Welcome patients both face to face and on the phone.
* Gain an understanding of where and how to signpost patients to the most appropriate person in the surgery that can help them.
* Contribute to the smooth running of the administrative process by undertaking admin roles, calling patients to encourage them to book for poor health prevention appointments, covering the reception from 08:00 - 20:00 on a rota basis.
* Meeting the telephone answering targets so our patients aren't kept waiting on the phone.
The Ideal Candidate
You will preferably have proven experience in a reception and administration role, have outstanding customer service skills and have the ability to demonstrate professional behaviours at all times.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of packages including email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency and improved outcomes. We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care, sexual health, dermatology and MSK services as well as adult social care and wellbeing services. Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year - guided by our simple values: we care, we think, we do.
We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from a broad, diverse range of people who want to join our team. We’re a Disability Confident Committed company, so we work to provide facilities, work environment adjustments and technical solutions to be as inclusive of everyone.
