Nurse Seekers are proud to be recruiting a Third in Charge on behalf of a fantastic quality Nursery based near Horsforth, Leeds. The successful candidate must be energetic, willing to take charge, and a passionate individual with a real passion for childcare and wanting to work with children to fulfil their greatest potential!
Key Responsibilities
1. To work under the direction of the Manager and Deputy Manager and deputise for the Deputy Manager if required.
2. Direct and support the staff team as agreed with the Manager and implement high standards of quality practices within the nursery.
3. To establish daily routines that encourage independence for the children in line with best practice.
4. To implement EYFS and any other legal and statutory frameworks.
5. To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures, and the staff code of conduct.
6. To undertake any duties set by the management team that will assist in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
7. Motivate and lead a team.
8. To support the aims and objectives of the nursery and to achieve a high standard of education and care for children from 3 months to 5 years.
9. Work in partnership with Parent/Carers and staff to ensure a high standard of care and education.
10. To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and children/colleague wellbeing.
11. To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.
12. Be responsible for implementing and monitoring systems of observation to enable children's progress and achievements to be regularly and effectively assessed and recorded.
13. Support and contribute to staff meetings and Inset Days.
14. To assist with staff development and training.
Essentials
1. Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent in childcare.
2. Minimum of 1 year's experience within a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner role.
3. Paediatric First Aid.
4. Good communication skills and proficiency in the written and spoken English language.
5. Extensive knowledge of EYFS and act in accordance with current legal and statutory frameworks, policies, and procedures.
