Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic therapist to come and to join the team as we expand our services providing support on the Inpatient unit, in patients homes and as part of our Living Well Service. Main duties of the job Undertake specific skilled support to palliative care patients referred to the Therapy Team in both In-patient and Community settings. Assess and treat patients both individually and in groups as required in a variety of settings including inpatients, outpatients, in the community and Living Well Programme. Person Specification Experience Essential Minimum of two years experience as Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant or Healthcare Assistant in related clinical field. Desirable NVQ III desirable or willingness to undertake. Qualifications Essential School education to GCSE level or equivalent to demonstrate literacy, numerical and communication skills. Other Essential Enhanced DBS A valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel frequently throughout the working day across the catchment area for the hospice. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion and deal with distressing circumstances Ability to work within a large team and in lone working situations as required by senior therapists. Ability to use own initiative Ability to respond to changing situations Awareness of own coping strategies Ability to facilitate therapy groups under the guidance of senior therapists.
