About The Role Accounts Assistant (Sales Ledger and Supply Chain)
£30,000 per annum Swavesey, Cambridge
Role Summary:
Are you detail-oriented and passionate about maintaining an efficient finance function? As an Accounts Assistant, you will play an integral role in our team, ensuring accurate financial operations within our business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supply Chain:
1. Oversee the supply chain control email, ensuring prompt responses and updates.
2. Keep the suppliers list up to date, including descriptions of services and goods provided.
3. Maintain a schedule of suppliers’ insurance documents and certifications.
4. Ensure the supplier approval process is accurate, including bank account checks.
5. Set up new customers and suppliers on Sage, ensuring all approvals are obtained and all data is accurate and up to date.
Sales Ledger:
1. Receive and process customer sales orders.
2. Raise invoices and assist managers with invoicing requests.
3. Perform credit control.
4. Assist with providing documentation for, and setting up, new customers.
Additional Administration:
1. Assist the Finance Manager and Head of Finance with any other duties as required.
2. Manage the finance email accounts, taking necessary actions.
3. Manage some control accounts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
1. AAT level 2 and above.
2. Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications.
3. Attention to detail and the ability to identify data patterns.
4. Good organisational skills.
5. Excellent time-management ability.
6. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills.
2. Excellent customer (internal and external) service approach.
3. Good communication (verbal and written).
4. Ability to respond to unforeseen events and act promptly.
5. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
