Eden Brown Synergy is looking for a qualified Social Worker to join the Locality Child Protection team for Wigan Council.
Responsibilities:
1. Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need
2. Undertaking Initial Assessments
3. Undertaking Core Assessments
4. Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries
5. Undertaking Pre-Birth Assessments
6. Undertaking Parenting Assessments
7. Undertaking Risk Assessments
8. Completion of Section 7 reports requested by Family Courts
9. Completion of Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts
10. Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need
11. Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes to promote the welfare of and safeguard the children
12. Liaising with partnership agencies to support families and meet the children's needs
13. Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
14. Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
15. Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
16. Initiating Care Proceedings
17. Completion of Care Proceedings
Essential Requirements:
1. Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
2. At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
3. Social Work England Registration
4. Driving license and access to own vehicle
