1:1 Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs Support
Location: Caerphilly / Newbridge area
Pay: From £88.92 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Availability: Full-time, part-time, and ad-hoc roles available
Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's life?
We're recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with complex additional learning needs in a caring and supportive school setting in the Caerphilly/Newbridge area.
This is a deeply rewarding role where you'll work closely with one pupil, helping them access learning, manage daily routines, and build confidence and independence.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide consistent, dedicated 1:1 support for a student with complex needs throughout the school day.
2. Support learning activities both in and out of the classroom.
3. Assist with personal care, emotional regulation, and behavioural support where required.
4. Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement and adapt the pupil's individual learning plan (ILP).
5. Help maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment to promote progress and well-being.
6. Track and report progress, celebrating small wins and milestones along the way.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience working with children with complex needs, such as ASD, global developmental delay, sensory processing difficulties, or medical conditions.
2. A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach.
3. Confidence in supporting behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
5. An Enhanced DBS (on the update service), or willingness to obtain one.
6. EWC registration as a learning support worker.
7. Right to work in the UK.
