Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Senior Practitioner, West Midlands Council, Children's Fostering Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Initially the role will be to cover our duty function.
2. Matching children requiring a foster placement with our in-house foster carers who have a vacancy - The SP will be supported in this activity by duty workers.
3. The work is paced; therefore, we require an experienced worker who is dynamic, enjoys a challenge, can work well under pressure, and is committed to making a difference for our children.
4. The SP will be part of a supportive, forward-looking fostering service.
5. Upon the permanent worker’s return from sickness, the interim SP will have the opportunity to complete other pieces of work supporting foster carers.
6. Agile working with a maximum of 2 days a week in the office.
7. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
8. 3 month Temporary Contract.
9. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
