My client is a global Software company looking to hire a Senior Commercial Tech lawyer at 8+ PQE level as a maternity cover for March/April - Dec 2025.
Location
Company's offices are just out of West London (30-40 min from Waterloo)
The team meet weekly for 1 day in the office
The office is in a nice location by the river with own garden, outdoor lunch area etc.
For an exceptional candidate the role can be remote.
Company
B-to-B Software company whose clients are other tech companies, with ca. 2500 employees globally.
Headquartered in Europe (no US late night calls).
Most of the legal team is based ion the UK.
Legal team headcount is ca. 10-12 lawyers.
Role
— International (EMEA) commercial technology lawyer role with 70-80% of the work focused on supporting the company's sales activities
— Sales and Legal work in harmony: Legal has huge respect from Sales, they get involved in projects early, get invited to team off-sites, are receptive to advice and training
— The company has fantastic culture based on respect for the individual
— Since it's a small team, there is scope to shape your role (select areas of interest and develop them)
— Excellent manager (I've known them for a few years) + very supportive legal team
— Continuous learning and exchange of best practices
— There are currently no direct reports
About you
We are looking for an experienced commercial technology lawyer who does not require a lot of training, ideally with 8+ years of experience but can be a little more junior, with the package adjusted accordingly
With in-house experience / client secondment supporting middle-sized technology / software vendors
A technically strong lawyer, drafter and negotiator (all contracts are bespoke)
