Senior Digital Designer - CPU / SystemVerilog / VHDL We are working with one of the world's largest semiconductor companies who are a global leader in the field of chip, CPU and GPU technologies based out of Cambridge. The design engineers in the CPU Group are tasked with driving innovation and developing the next generation of microprocessors. They must possess a comprehensive understanding of the various components that contribute to the success of our products, including low-power design, performance impact of design choices, efficient design techniques, and verification processes to guarantee high-quality and reliable designs. This is a permanent role based on site in Cambridge.
Responsibilities for the Senior Digital Design Role:
The definition and implementation of hardware designs
Writing and reviewing design and verification documentation
Planning and tracking design tasks to meet the targets at the planned time
Owning parts of CPU micro-architecture, contributing to all phases of the design flow
Requirements for this Senior Digital Design Role:
Practical knowledge of System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL for design purposes.
Capacity to make informed decisions on balancing functionality, performance, and physical implementation.
Ability to lead and oversee all phases of a project, including conception, specification, implementation, testing, and support.
Familiarity with the basic principles of computer architecture.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Unix shell scripting.
Understanding of assembly language (preferably ARM), C/C++, and/or hardware verification languages such as SystemVerilog
