We are looking for someone to join our Neonatal Surgical Unit at Sheffield Children's, who will deliver high-quality, family-focused care, ensuring consistency of practice and maintaining standards in patient safety. You'll participate in network meetings, MDT groups, and neonatal awareness campaigns, and work with AHP and education teams to support developmental and family-integrated care.
You'll advocate for 'parents as partners in care,' optimising the clinical environment with a Family Integrated Care framework. You'll also provide clinical care to babies requiring high dependency and intensive care in collaboration with surgical specialists.
About You:
Qualified in Neonatal Speciality (QIS)
Leadership experience as a senior staff nurse in a neonatal unit, able to demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in providing care for surgical infants.
Focus on development, and committed to enhancing the service and promoting a supportive environment for staff and families alike.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Lead Nurse (PCCU) your responsibilities will include:
1. Manage the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring adherence to unit protocols and Trust policies.
2. Monitor daily workload and workforce resources.
3. Undertake assessment, planning and implementation of care programmes for babies requiring intensive and high-dependency care.
4. Provide leadership to junior staff, and support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications
* RN Child (RSCN) or equivalent neonatal qualification
* Diploma level or above post basic nursing qualification in relevant field
* Neonatal intensive care of the newborn qualification
* Degree in relevant subject
Experience
* Previous significant managerial experience in paediatric/neonatal nursing.
* Significant neonatal surgical experience
* Teaching and assessing qualification
* Recruitment and personnel management
* Budget management
* Setting and auditing clinical standards
* Utilisation of research in practice
* Project management
Knowledge and Skills
* Health and Safety safe practices, e.g. lifting and handling, sharps,
* COSHH, clinical governance
* Level 3 safeguarding training

* Supportive to junior nurses undergoing Revalidation
