Clients:
I work with a leading global financial institution committed to legal excellence and strategic risk management. This role sits within the Employment, Benefits & Incentives Legal team, advising on UK employment law matters across the bank’s HR and Employee Relations functions. You’ll play a key role in supporting employment policies, handling contentious and non-contentious matters, and helping shape forward-looking strategies that impact thousands of employees.
Role:
* Act as the accountable lawyer for UK employment law matters, providing legal advice, guidance, and risk management to HR and Employee Relations teams.
* Support the bank in developing employment policies and handling employment litigation, disputes, and regulatory issues.
* Work closely with HR to apply legal insights to improve processes and policies, ensuring compliance with UK employment law.
* Manage external legal spend and develop strong relationships with external counsel.
* Keep senior stakeholders informed on employment law developments and legislative changes, advising on their impact on HSBC’s operations.
What they are looking for:
* UK-qualified employment lawyer with extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
* Financial services experience is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and provide commercially sound legal advice.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise and influence at a senior level.
* A proactive self-starter with a keen interest in multi-jurisdictional and regulatory employment law issues.
